Neo, UX & web deisgn
UK Science Festivals
Neo is an agency true to my beliefs; working on projects that matter. I worked with the Neo team to deliver the UX and website design for the British Science Association.
The need
The British Science Association were in need of a new website to showcase a network of science festivals that happen around the UK. The website needed to have the ability for over 60 members to participate in the network by joining and sharing their festival on the new website.
The solution
Working very closely with the team at Neo and the client, I developed a functional specification which outlined the navigation, structure and functionality of the new website. This incorporated the use of key persona journeys and the foundations for design and build. I then worked with the key elements of the new brand designed by Neo and designed the new website graphics.
1. Met with Neo
Project kick off! Met with the team at Neo to learn about the project and get an overview of the clients needs. Off to do more research.
+2. Met client
A telephone chat with the project team to learn more about the project scope, deliverables, risks, challenges and opportunities.
+Onsite workshop
Today’s 2 hour workshop is to really understand the key user journeys, actions and needs by getting a set of personas together.
+4. Wireframes
The navigational structure is signed off! Great – now onto the wireframes. The wireframes will show the client how the different templates and functionality can be used.
+5. Web design
Web design commenced! Designed a few pages to show the client and then proceeded with the rest following feedback. All happy!
+6. Design
Fantastic! All approved after a few rounds of amends and now time to handover to the developer team to build.
