Neo, UX design

Options, International Development

Neo is an agency true to my beliefs; working on projects that matter. I worked as part of the overall project team to deliver the UX design for the Options new website.

The need

Options were in need of a new responsive website to work in tandem with their refreshed brand designed by Neo. The website needed to be easy to use across the world sharing information about their important work building partnerships to transform the health of women and children. This included showcasing the countries they work in, programmes, expertise and recruitment section.

The solution

Working very closely with the team at Neo and the client, I co-hosted a series of workshops. These workshops identified the user needs through developing a set of personas and navigational hierarchy using a card sort method. Following this research and learning phase, I developed a functional specification which outlined the navigation, structure and functionality of the new website. This incorporated the use of key persona journeys and set the foundations for design and build.

1. Met with Neo

Project kick off! Met with the team at Neo to learn about the project and get an overview of the clients needs. Off to do more research.

2. Met client

A telephone chat with the project team to learn more about the project scope, deliverables, risks, challenges and opportunities.

3. UX Workshop

Today’s 3 hour workshop is to really understand the key user journeys, actions and needs by getting a set of personas together.

4. UX Workshop

Following on from the first workshop, this workshop will unravel the architectural needs of the new website. We will run a card sort to identify key navigational areas for the client.

5. Wireframes

The navigational structure is signed off! Great – now onto the wireframes. The wireframes will show the client how the different templates and functionality can be used.

6. Design

Fantastic! All approved after a few rounds of amends and now time to handover to the web design team to visualise. They will use the wireframes as the framework for their designs.
